Okay, so its been a while since I climbed up on my soapbox here at
Chariot's Wheels -- but then I've been too preoccupied just living to
get really hopping mad at something. Frankly, I'm ashamed at myself
for no having had something to say sooner about this pseudo-psychological
bitch "Dr." Laura.
If you're not hopping mad about her, take a spin by Stop
Dr Laura and find out why you should be. Any human being should
be completely incensed by the mindless, bigoted drivel that spews from
this "person".
Not only has she said that gay people "are biological errors",
she has decried Witchraft's status as a religion.
I am simply flabbergasted. My big mouth is stammering. Too be faced
with such hostility and stupidity in the same breath -- I am underwhelmed
with her humanity.
Listen -- I am a human being, capable of sexual and other intimacy,
capable of the full spectrum of human emotion and behavior (including
righteous indignation), and I am not an ERROR! I am a feeling, contributing,
healthy human being. Obviously a far cry from "Dr." Laura.
By the way, her doctorate is in physiology. Where does she get off
talking about the human condition or the human experience of religion?
She is obviously not qualified, because she is neither a student of
the human condition nor a HUMAN BEING.
What exactly is he saying here, that she's not a human being? Obviously,
biologically she is a human being. But don't we really expect more?
As the supposedly enlightened beings that we are, shouldn't we be more
choosy about who we apply that title to? Sure, I believe very strongly
in compassion and empathy and all those wonderful things. But I also
believe that if we are going to survive as a race, if we are ever going
to reach our true heritage of godhead, we need to put petty bullshit
and hatred like this behind us.
Am I a human being? I think so; maybe just squeaking by. You see, I
have my faults, too. I'm a bit of a bigot myself. I hate STUPID PEOPLE.
